Katherine Clark
Katherine is a trusted communications partner with more than 20 years experience. Her expertise includes: strategic communications, issues management, media relations, speech writing, media training and social media. A trusted advisor to senior executives, she has a proven track record of developing and leading sound communications campaigns that manage reputations, raise awareness, elevate brands, increase executive visibility and engage audiences. She has been recognized with numerous IABC and CPRS awards for her work.
Since Katherine launched Beacon, she has developed, led and managed communications campaigns for a wide variety of clients, from well-known corporate brands to emerging businesses, including Pet Valu, OCAD University, Payfare, Leaders International, French’s, Smooth Rock Falls, Closing The Gap Healthcare, Avon, XTM Inc. and Ryerson University.
Katherine spent the first ten years of her career at H+K Strategies. During that time, she was Group Leader of the Toronto Marketing Communications team where she counselled, supported and promoted some of Canada’s most familiar brands including Kraft Canada, Procter & Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser, Hewlett-Packard and the Illinois Bureau of Tourism.
A critical thinker and creative problem solver, Katherine has a reputation for creating and running strategic campaigns that achieve business objectives. Her communications counsel is informed by analysis, deep experience and knowledge of the latest trends. Trained as a journalist, Katherine is a news aficionado and a skilled writer. She knows what makes a good story and how to tell it.
When she isn’t helping clients, Katherine serves as a Director on the Board of the Etobicoke Humane Society and is an alumni mentor for students at the University of Toronto. She’s also an avid traveler and is constantly dreaming of what adventure to take her family on next.
